Welcome To the Math Challenge!!

 

The Math Challenge is open to any McIntosh College student who wants to challenge themselves for fame and prizes.  Here is how the Challenge works.

 

-         New problems will be posted on the Math Challenge bulletin board located in the main building outside the Med Lab and on this web site each Thursday. 

-         Students will have until the following Thursday to complete the problem and return the answer, with all associated work.

 

-         You may return your answer with all work electronically to phopkinson@mcintoshcollege.edu or place it in the “Answer Envelope” on the Math Challenge board. 

 

-         You may return answers for any problem associated with the highest level math you have taken here at McIntosh College.  For instance, if you are taking College Math, you can work the College Math problem but not the Business Math problem.  Any student is welcomed to work problems above the level math course you have taken, however.

 

-         The student who accumulates the most correct answers in each math category (Business, College, Finite) by the end of the semester will receive a prize.  Second and third place will receive prizes also.

 

-         Remember, you must show work and you must turn in the completed problem by Thursday.
